This is pretty scary -- fear induced from the real world, rather than fantasy monsters or whatever. I love it.

The symbolism here is really powerful. Change the shirt on the model so he looks more like a man and it would be perfect. Because it's really important that he looks like a big powerful man I think.

The scariest thing of all is what we have let our minds think that this piece represents. It's a shame that when we see a picture like this we automatically assume the "dad" is going to beat/molest the child.

When I look at this picture I think that the dad has come home from a long trip and stops off to check in on his children before continuing down the hallway to finish undressing.

This image isn't worth 1000 words. I don't think words can be worth all that photo makes me think of. I'm sure most people who looked at it had a surge of emotion, and that a large portion of those had negative thoughts, or bad memories coming back to them. Which, as stupid as it sounds, is good, this being expressive photography. You're trying to make us feel something, and we feel it. Truly.

I feel the pain, the fear. I feel the sorrow. I feel the hatred. I feel the sadness. I feel your photograph.

ummmm am i the only one who thinks daddy's looking a bit err feminine-ish?the pants look like flares and the fold in the uper font of the shirt kinda makes it look like he has breast and the hands are small ~sugesting hes a she. with that out of the way other then that i think its an good peice. did u use a female model ?

I disagree with gabrialfalling...
Its a cliche, that abuse parents (in that case the father) always have to look like someone from a building site (no offense) or have the measures of a giant .
Child abuse also happens in families, where the parents have a regular office job...
You not only touch one hotspot (Child abuse), you also touch that it happens in "best families".

eh. i see what you are trying to get across here but the actual work it self isnt what i would call the best...

the fathers body looks more like a womans wearing flared pants and a shirt thats too big.

dont get me wrong. its a good thought, and a damn good angle.

there are good and bad qualities here.

Incredible photo with an incredibly well-conveyed meaning. Horrifying and tragic...yet gorgeous at the same time. Absolutely amazing shot...the dark room, the father walking in with the belt off, and the teddy bear really add (as delici0us said) a great deal of symbolism. Again, A+ photo.

it's actually a really good photo, just it doesn't appeal to me (if you get my meaning)
