So what have I been up to ?! Well, in short... work work work work.....
My first bookcover will soon be available which is really exciting. Can't wait to get the
copy I will report more when all is official !

Looking at my journal today I realized that I haven't updated this in like months and really felt writing something new in here. Not that there is much to tell

I took an online break of about 2 months and I have to admit that it really was good. Not to have go online to sort through messages,questions etc. was quite a change and refreshing. I guess I kinda had my first online breakdown or so..... but browsing through dA today was much fun and so I guess I will be around more. Babysteps... you know ?!

So what have you guys been up to ? What did I miss ?

I just wanted to post a huge thank you to the AR team, for the great time and to the community for all the support and encouragement during my time as a GD. For now I am happy to have more time for my artwork again and enjoy my time around dA.

Meet the new Digital Galleries Team:

I live in the US, South Carolina to be exact. I have completed 2 years towards my BA in Fine Arts in the state of Florida, I studied mainly in traditional mediums, design, and sculpture. During my second year at college I spent a year working in a very eclectic art gallery with a new art show/opening every month, I had the opportunity to meet some amazing artists and people. I have also worked as a manager for an art sales company, I have always enjoyed interacting with the public, especially when it involves art, and I have even spent years working in bakeries as a self taught cake decorator. Aside from art, I am also somewhat of a musician. I took many years of flute lessons, and played in several bands through school, I also spent time learning the tenor sax, I enjoy all types of music.  Last but certainly not least I am a happily married stay at home mom to 2 beautiful children ages 11 and 2.

I came across deviantART while looking for some photoshop brushes when I first discovered PS and all it was capable of. I joined up (to dA) and my eyes were opened to the world of photo-manipulation, I was hooked. I bought my tablet, and started digitally painting, mixing photos, 3D, fractals, etc., and uploading to dA. I feel like I have tried just about everything, but my current medium is digital painting and mixing photos, and I think its by far my favorite. Everything I do digitally is self taught. I really enjoy my time here on deviantART, and I am really happy to be volunteering on the Artist Relations Team.

Hello dA!!! What a great welcoming as a new Gallery Director I've received over the last week. I'm going to keep this short, but I just wanted to real quick introduce myself and let you know what my roll is as one of the Gallery Directors for the BEST art category on deviantART.

Around the site, you've come to know me as WhenPigsFry, but in real life my name is JayBob Gfeller. On the full-time side of the house, I work for the Kansas Army National Guard as a Warrant Officer Recruiter. When I'm not working for the military, I'm usually either in front of the TV or the computer, but most commonly, both! Aside from art, I also love music, cars, and peanut butter.

On April 21st I married my high school sweetheart. We live in Topeka, Kansas with our three "kids" Gizzmo (dog), Precious (cat), and Daisy (hamster). That is all I can think about at the moment, but I'm sure sure we'll get to know each other very well over the next year.

On deviantART, my duties as a volunteer Digital Art Gallery Director are to assist in the development of the Digital Art community. This includes managing & organizing the digital art galleries, running contests, posting news features, recommend improvements for the site, and of course everyone's favorite featuring Daily Deviations!

I have been a GD for some time now, starting in the photomanipulation gallery and later switching to the overall digital galleries. I enjoy all the different digital art forms and tried my hand on most of them, so it's a great fit for me. Besides cleaning up miscats and organizing my main focus is on featuring artists and their beautiful work through DD's, newsarticles and features.
